Job summary

The Salvation Army in Olathe, KS is seeking a part-time Store Sales Associate I to provide friendly customer service, assist with transactions, and help maintain an organized thrift store. Qualifications

• Basic computer and cash-handling skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a store environment that may be dusty or experience temperature changes

• Provide excellent customer service and represent The Salvation Army’s mission and values
• Greet donors and shoppers warmly and assist with transactions at the register
• Operate the POS system and handle all cash transactions accurately
• Open, close, and balance cash drawers per TSA cash handling policies
• Maintain a clean and organized store by restocking, straightening racks, and cleaning work areas
• Ensure merchandise is displayed properly and replenished regularly
• Follow policies regarding the sale of donated goods
• Work collaboratively with team members and store management
• Support store productivity benchmarks and contribute to sales goals
• Be available for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
