The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Associate to deliver excellent customer service, keep the store organized, and create a welcoming shopping experience for customers and donors.

This part-time role requires a reliable, punctual worker with basic math and computer skills, able to stand for long periods and assist with inventory, checkout, stocking, and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Provide friendly customer service and maintain a positive store atmosphere.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality at all shifts.
• Basic math and computer skills for transactions and inventory.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Able to stand, walk for long periods and lift/move merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly service.
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately.
• Open/close and balance the register as assigned.
• Restock merchandise and keep displays neat.
• Sort, prepare, and move merchandise to the sales floor.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized store.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI Pay: $14.00 per hour Job Type: Part-time Schedule: 25 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

What You'll Do

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately
• Help open, close, and balance the register as assigned
• Restock merchandise and keep displays neat and easy to shop
• Help sort, prepare, and move merchandise to the sales floor
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized
• Work with team members to support daily sales and production goals

• Experience using a point of sale system
