Job summary

The Pittsburgh Paint Company is seeking a Store Sales Associate to join our US Commercial team in a fast-paced retail environment, delivering outstanding service, color matching, product recommendations, and order support for retail and contractor customers.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will drive sales while maintaining a clean, organized store and handling orders via phone, in person, online and email; hours typically Mon–Fri 7am–5pm, Sat 8am–12pm.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks.
• Customer service experience preferred with a team-focused approach.
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to use a computer for order processing and customer support.
• Flexible hours and ability to lift up to 80 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by understanding customer needs and recommending the right products and solutions
• Assist retail and contractor customers with product selection, color matching, and order processing
• Mix, tint, and match paint products according to customer specifications
• Build knowledge of Pittsburgh Paints Company brands, products, and store processes
• Process customer orders and payments through phone, in-person, online, and email channels

The Opportunity

The Store Sales Associate is a key member of the US Commercial team and plays an important role in delivering an exceptional customer experience in a fast‑paced retail environment. This position supports retail and contractor customers by providing product recommendations, color matching, order support, and outstanding service.

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Store Sales Associate helps drive sales success while maintaining a clean, organized, and customer‑focused store environment.

The starting pay rate for this role is $17/hour.

This position is scheduled within typical store hours:

• Monday - Friday: 7am - 5pm
• Saturday: 8am - 12pm
• Sunday: Closed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by understanding customer needs and recommending the right products and solutions
• Assist retail and contractor customers with product selection, color matching, and order processing
• Mix, tint, and match paint products according to customer specifications
• Build knowledge of Pittsburgh Paints Company brands, products, and store processes
• Process customer orders and payments through phone, in‑person, online, and email channels

• Customer service experience preferred with a team‑focused approach
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers in a professional manner
• Ability to use a computer and keyboard for order processing and customer support
• Ability to work scheduled hours as needed, including flexibility based on business needs
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally and 40-60 pounds routinely, including standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
• Ability to operate a hand truck and/or material handling equipment
