Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Ames, IA is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Associate to deliver excellent customer service, keep the store organized, and create a welcoming shopping experience for customers and donors.

Position is part-time, 25 hours per week, with a $12/hour pay rate. Benefits include paid vacation, sick time, holidays, life insurance options, a 403(b) plan, and access to other voluntary benefits; eligibility prorated by scheduled hours.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide friendly customer service.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic math and computer skills.

• Ability to stand and walk most of the shift.
• Teamwork and basic communication.
• Experience with POS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately.
• Balance the register as assigned.
• Restock merchandise and keep displays neat.
• Sort, prepare, and move merchandise to the sales floor.
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized.
• Support daily sales and production goals with the team.

We are looking for a friendly, dependable Retail Sales Associate to provide great customer service, keep the store organized, and help create a welcoming shopping experience for customers and donors.

What You’ll Do
