Job description

General Purpose

This position provides a visible presence at the store entrances/exits, mitigating theft and fraud and maintaining a safe and secure environment for associates and customers. The Specialist makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all customers in a prominent, courteous, and friendly manner, deterring opportunity for theft by demonstrating a command presence in a company‑issued vest or required black attire. The Specialist monitors the Code 50 package inspection policy, walks the sales floor to identify and address potential theft indicators, and works with store leadership to ensure compliance with loss prevention directives and minimize operational shortage. The Specialist must embrace company values and protect the store treasure.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment by practicing and promoting safety behaviors.
  • Provide visible command presence at entrances and on the sales floor in company‑issued vest or required black attire.
  • Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, making eye contact, smiling, and answering questions in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Treat all customers and associates with respect and demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
  • Engage with internal and external partners, including scheduled district meetings and training sessions.
  • Support loss prevention initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Represent and support the company brand at all times.
Developing Great Teams & Partnerships
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and demonstrate respect to all stakeholders.
  • Recognize associates through company recognition programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with store team members.
  • Provide training and education on shortage reduction initiatives.
Mitigating Theft & Fraud
  • Monitor entrances and sales floor to identify suspicious behaviors.
  • Collect theft indicators and use intelligence to impact shortage trends.
  • Communicate findings to store and loss prevention leadership.
  • Adhere to company policy for external theft response.
  • Execute best practices to maximize productivity while minimizing steps and touches.
Minimizing Operational Shortage
  • Increase store awareness on effective processes to reduce operational shortage.
  • Train and educate associates on checkout procedures and shortage reduction initiatives.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Bend, stoop, or crouch regularly as required by daily business needs.
