Job summary

NAPA Auto Parts in Anacortes, WA is seeking a part-time Store Pro to be the primary customer contact in-store, delivering exceptional service and automotive parts solutions. You will assist retail and wholesale customers, coordinate parts, and support store performance with strong product knowledge and responsiveness.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong listening and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to learn automotive parts and technology systems.
  • Experience in automotive, retail, or parts environment is preferred.
  • ASE Certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate automotive parts solutions to retail and wholesale customers.
  • Deliver a consistently positive and engaging customer experience.
  • Utilize product knowledge to assist customers and support team members.
  • Operate POS, inventory/catalog tools, and communication devices.
  • Maintain high energy and customer focus in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Support store operations including transactions, inquiries, and general workflow.
  • Build relationships with customers to drive loyalty and repeat business.
  • Utilize delivery management systems to coordinate and dispatch deliveries and support logistics.
  • Perform general housekeeping, cleaning, and organizational tasks to maintain a safe, welcoming store environment.
  • Assist with inventory control activities and stocking.
  • Contribute to store operations and team support tasks to optimize performance.

Summary

The Store Pro serves as the primary point of contact for customers in the retail store, representing the NAPA brand and delivering a high-quality customer experience. This role is responsible for providing automotive parts solutions, supporting both retail and wholesale customers, and contributing to store performance through product knowledge, responsiveness, and customer engagement. It offers a strong entry point or growth path within the organization

Position Performance Measures:
  • Customer satisfaction and service quality (CSAT, repeat business)
  • Accuracy and efficiency in parts identification and order fulfillment
  • Sales performance (retail and wholesale transactions)
  • Responsiveness to customer inquiries (in-store and phone)
  • Team collaboration and support to peers
  • Adherence to store processes, systems, and operational standards
Responsibilities

The following primary responsibilities are not all inclusive:

  • Provide accurate automotive parts solutions to retail and wholesale customers

  • Operate systems including POS, inventory/catalog tools, and communication devices
  • Maintain high energy and customer focus in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Support store operations including transactions, inquiries, and general workflow
  • Build relationships with customers to drive loyalty and repeat business
  • Utilize delivery management systems to coordinate and dispatch deliveries, pull and prepare orders for customers and drivers, and support efficient logistics and fulfillment operations.
  • Perform general housekeeping, cleaning, and organizational tasks to maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming store environment.
  • Assist with inventory control activities, including receiving merchandise, stocking shelves, conducting cycle counts, and helping maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Contribute to various store operations and team support tasks as needed to optimize store performance, merchandising, and overall efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to store processes and operational standards.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong listening and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to learn automotive parts and technology systems

Preferred:

  • Experience in automotive, retail, or parts environment
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle repair or maintenance
  • Knowledge of inventory or cataloging systems
  • Background in automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, farm, marine, or dealership environments
  • ASE Certification (not required)

Organizational Structure
  • Reports to: Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager
  • Works closely with: Counter Sales team, Inventory/Operations staff, and Wholesale customers
  • Part of: Retail Store Operations within NAPA
Physical Demands / Working Environment
  • Retail store environment with frequent customer interaction
  • Standing for extended periods and frequent movement within the store
  • Ability to lift and move automotive parts and materials (moderate weight)
  • Use of computers, phones, and POS systems regularly
  • Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and responsiveness

This position offers a starting hourly rate of $23.75. For other positions, the starting rate will be determined based on individual skills, experience, and qualifications.
