Job description

The Store Operations Supervisor assists with the daily operation of an assigned store location and supports the Branch Manager in ensuring effective staffing, training, customer service, inventory control, cash flow tracking, merchandising, safety, and operational execution. This role provides day-to-day guidance to store employees, helps resolve routine customer and operational issues, and may act on behalf of the Branch Manager when needed. The Store Supervisor exercises sound judgment within established policies and procedures, supports achievement of store goals, and promotes a safe, organized, customer-focused work environment.

Salary: $24 - $28 Hourly | DOE

Primary Duties:
  • Assist the Branch Manager with daily store operations, including staffing, scheduling, workflow coordination, customer service, inventory, cash handling, and overall store readiness.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, training, and support to store employees to ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with company standards.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance feedback, and employee development activities in partnership with the Branch Manager and Human Resources.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, properly merchandised, and maintained in alignment with company expectations and safety requirements.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy, assist with cycle counts and replenishment activities, and support timely resolution of inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records and enter data related to store transactions, cash flow, inventory, quotations, customer activity, and operational performance.
  • Use company systems, including Epicor Prophet 21, to support accurate order processing, documentation, reporting, and compliance with established processes.
  • Promote strong customer service by assisting customers, supporting key customer relationships, resolving routine concerns, and escalating complex issues appropriately.
  • Support store sales, margin, expense control, and other performance objectives by executing company programs, promotions, and operational initiatives as directed.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and other business partners to support customer needs and efficient branch operations.
  • Identify operational risks, process gaps, safety concerns, and service opportunities; recommend practical solutions to the Branch Manager.
  • May act as the primary on-site leader when the Branch Manager is unavailable, within established authority and company guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Work Experience
  • Requires 2-4 years of related store, branch, retail, distribution, customer service, or operations experience.
  • Prior experience providing day-to-day direction, training, coaching, or supervision to employees preferred.
  • Working knowledge of store operations, inventory practices, cash handling, customer service standards, and company policies and procedures preferred.
  • Experience in industrial distribution, fluid power, Parker products, or related industries preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record per company policy.

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities can be achieved through a combination of education and experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn and use company systems; Epicor Prophet 21 or similar ERP experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The essential functions of this position will require the employee to perform the following physical activities:

  • Frequent use of office and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials up to 70 lbs.
  • Regular standing and walking on cement flooring; bending, reaching, climbing ladders.
  • Work environments may include warehouses, offices, manufacturing sites, and customer facilities with varying temperatures and conditions.
