Job summary

Habitat for Humanity KC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager (Full-time, 40 hours/week) to oversee store operations when the store manager is absent. The role keeps a clean, friendly environment, manages inventory, and ensures efficient checkout.

We train associates and volunteers, uphold the return policy, and drive a welcoming donor and customer experience. Must be prepared to lift up to 50 lbs and work on feet most of the day.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years personnel management experience.
• Volunteer supervision experience preferred.
• Retail experience preferred.
• Knowledge of building materials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate store at a fast pace and lead staff to do the same.
• Manage daily store operations, openings, and closings.
• Ensure all donated merchandise is clean and ready for sale.
• Create a friendly shopping and donor experience for customers and volunteers.
• Provide direction for staff, volunteers, and temporary workers daily.
• Maintain a safe workplace and adhere to audit regulations.
• Drive a robust volunteer program and encourage involvement.
• Use financial data metrics to motivate performance.
• Process daily deposits and drawer audits accurately.
