Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores is seeking a Store Manager in Training to lead high‑energy teams in a fast‑paced retail environment. You will participate in on‑the‑job training to manage store operations, merchandising, signage, and customer experience across the assigned location.

You will recruit and develop associates, oversee daily activities, and drive profitability while ensuring compliance with policies and safety standards. A proactive, customer‑focused leader is essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of prior retail management experience.
• Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience preferred.
• Strong productivity management in freight processing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Must lift 30 to 50 lbs and perform physical duties.

Your Role at Dollar Tree:

As a Store Manager in Training at Dollar Tree, you’ll engage in on-the-job training to learn how to manage the profitable operations of your assigned store by maintaining a high standard for merchandising, placement, and store signage and by using proper display techniques to create an inviting atmosphere for customers.

• Recruit and hire store associates to serve our customers
• Foster the growth and development of associates through training on operations and merchandising while coaching and correcting when appropriate
• Oversee and delegate all store activities to ensure smooth daily operations
• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while enforcing company policies and procedures
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Implement operational and merchandising direction that is communicated from our corporate headquarters
• Help your store reach its maximum profit contribution
• Protect company assets
• Maintain a high level of customer service across the store
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders

Your Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years prior retail management experience is preferred
• Experience with hardlines or variety merchandise; BIG BOX experience a plus is preferred
• Strong productivity management in freight processing is required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Must be able to lift up between 30 to 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation is required
