Store Manager In Training (SMIT) Program

The SMIT role is a development-focused position designed to prepare you for a Store Manager role at CVS. The program lasts 16 weeks and includes self-paced, collaborative training with virtual and hands-on learning experiences. Support for your growth includes your District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and Store Manager coach.

Key Skills and Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to support and lead your team.
  • Perform customer care duties to ensure high service levels.
  • Implement merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
  • Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
Expectations for SMITs
  • Engage actively with your leader during Key Learning Experiences to support your promotion path.
  • Support your store as a management team member, leading in alignment with CVS values and policies.
  • Engage colleagues to support the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
  • Be willing to accept promotion roles within the market.

Note: Selection as an SMIT does not guarantee promotion to Store Manager; promotion depends on performance and available openings.

Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or relevant work experience in retail management or as a CVS Supervisor
Additional Details

Anticipated Weekly Hours: 45

Time Type: Full time

Pay Range: $18.50 - $28.67 per hour
