Job summary

U-Haul International, Inc. in Texas is seeking a General Manager to keep a moving and storage center profitable and efficient by hiring staff, tracking inventory and managing equipment.

You will solve problems daily, lead a high-volume operation and coach your team, with opportunities for advancement and access to training and benefits including medical, dental, vision plans, and tuition reimbursement. This role emphasizes guest care, safety, and continuous U-Haul education.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of management experience in retail or a service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
• Organizational expertise.
• Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.

As General Manager you will be responsible for keeping your center profitable and efficient by hiring effective staff, keeping track of inventory and managing equipment. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes or irritating chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
