Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation is seeking a Management Trainee to develop into store leadership. You’ll gain hands-on experience under seasoned managers while performing duties that prepare you for advancement within a fast-paced retail environment.

The program emphasizes customer service, sales driving, merchandising, and departmental coordination as you progress over 6–18 months to the next management level.

Qualifications

• Basic math and organizational skills for day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers throughout the store.
• Drive sales and meet store targets.
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries.
• Recommend products and suggest add-on sales.
• Direct oversight of footwear and advertising programs, and other departments.
• Merchandising and compliance of all company policies.
• Set promotional signage.
• Retrieve merchandise from stockroom as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sales floor.
• Assist with store opening and closing procedures.
• Train newly hired associates.
• Direct sales and cashier staff.
• Oversee inventory control and loss prevention policies.
• Enforce all company policies.
