Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in Ohio to lead all store processes, including staffing, ordering, receiving, stocking, and selling while upholding company policies and safety standards. You will train staff, manage performance, and ensure accurate cash handling and security.

You will drive profitability through inventory control, product presentation, and exceptional customer service, with a focus on safety, compliance, and daily store operations.

Qualifications

• Reading diagrams, safety rules and procedures.
• Math calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register and generate reports.
• Inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration.
• Experience with recruiting, interviewing, hiring and termination processes.
• Familiarity with cash, safety and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per policy and staffing needs.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel or terminate when needed.
• Make recommendations regarding pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, safety expectations and conduct regular meetings.
• Open/close store at least twice weekly and ensure staffing.
• Evaluate operating statements and identify business trends and opportunities.
• Oversee ordering and stock targets; manage inventory and replenishment.
• Ensure proper merchandising presentation and pricing.
• Maintain accurate inventory and cash control procedures.
• Provide strong customer service leadership and a safe, clean store environment.
• Ensure required store tools and SOP compliance.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
