Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a store manager to lead all store processes, including staffing, training, inventory, merchandising and safety compliance. You will recruit and retain qualified staff, supervise performance, and ensure excellent customer service while meeting sales and operational targets.

The role requires strong leadership, cash handling and communication skills, with a focus on maintaining a well-organized, compliant, and customer-friendly shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
• Knowledge of cash handling, cashier accountability and deposit controls.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws and policies.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and counsel when needed.
• Open and close the store at least twice weekly.
• Monitor sales, profitability, turnover and inventory trends weekly.
• Ensure stock targets and replenishment plans are followed.
• Maintain accurate inventory and prevent shrink.
