Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and follow procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; address gaps as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and opportunities for expense control.
• Manage inventory levels and merchandising, including stock replenishment and pricing.
• Ensure merchandise is presented per established practices and signage guidelines.
• Maintain cash controls and security procedures to protect finances.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
