Job summary

Shoe Carnival in Round Rock, TX is seeking a motivated Store Lead to oversee a department and help drive customer satisfaction through strong leadership, teamwork, and a hands-on approach. You will train associates on service, product placement, cash handling, and POS use; manage transactions and returns; organize displays and floor moves; and promote current sales.

The role offers flexible full-time or part-time hours and opportunities to grow into a management position with ongoing leadership

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• 1+ year retail, sales, or cash handling preferred.
• Ability to learn and operate the POS system.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be at least 16 years old.

What You'll Do:

• Lead a department (such as Women’s, Men’s and Children’s departments) and support overall store standards
• Greet and assist customers with a positive, helpful attitude
• Train and guide associates on service, product placement, and cash handling
• Handle transactions, returns, and safe/till counts as needed
• Organize merchandise, displays, and help with truck unloading and floor moves
• Promote current sales and programs
• Delegate tasks and communicate clearly with the team

What We're Looking For:

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Confidence in taking initiative and leading by example
• At least one year experience in retail, sales, or cash handling (preferred)
• Ability to learn and operate the POS system
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be at least 16 years old

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs during shifts
• Comfortable bending, squatting, and reaching for merchandise
• Able to move quickly in a fast-paced store environment
