Job summary

Michaels Stores is seeking a team member for the store in Manhasset, NY. Job description

Store - LI-MANHASSET, NY

Maintain a high standard of overall look and feel of the store which includes maintaining store cleanliness and recovery standards to deliver our Brand Promises. Deliver friendly customer service, help customers shop our store and find what they’re looking for.

Cleaning Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.
• Dust and mop floors using dust and damp mops following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and products for proper cleaning and place products back in correct placement.
• Clean assigned areas with the use of assigned materials and equipment, including mixing water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
• Deep clean key areas of the store including bathrooms, break rooms, entry ways and other high traffic areas to maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
• Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly; notify supervisor of supply needs in advance for replenishment.
• Seek out areas requiring cleaning; take initiative to complete the task.
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor.
• Perform tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
• Maintain positive and respectful interactions with both team members and customers, even in difficult situations, in keeping with the organization’s vision and values.
• Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members.

Other Duties As Assigned

• Provide a fast and friendly check out experience; execute cash handling to standards.
• Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
• Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship from Store (SFS).
• Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
• Support shrink and safety programs.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements; execute Company policies and standards.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.

Work Environment

• Public retail store setting with climate controlled areas; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work may include retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks.
• Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press.
• Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
• Use of standard commercial cleaners and chemicals from cleaning supplies.

Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job. Michaels requires all team members in this role to be at least 16 years or older.

Compensation

Total Base Pay Range: $18.25 - $21.20 per hour.
