Job summary

Advance Auto Parts in Mundelein, Illinois seeks a Delivery Driver to deliver automotive parts to customers. You will be responsible for picking, staging, and safely delivering parts while assisting in upselling and maintaining store cleanliness.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and preferably some experience in automotive parts. This position offers a pay range of $15.00 to $16.13 per hour based on experience and other factors.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers
• Pick up returns and cores
• Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs
• Daily collection of credit accounts
• Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries
• Assist in upselling and cross‑selling products to increase average transaction value
• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot
• General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts
• Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales
• Engage with walk‑in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Job Skills

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals
• Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed
• Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products
• Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques

Prior Experience

Automotive parts experience is preferred

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation Range

The good faith estimate for this role is between 15.00 USD and 16.13 USD per hour for a new team member. The rate offered depends on a number of factors, including geographic location, experience in retail, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other skillsets ideal for this position and shift differential (if applicable).
