Job summary

Advance Auto Parts is hiring a delivery driver in Columbus, OH. The role involves picking, staging, and delivering parts to professional customers, with occasional returns and core pickups. You’ll assist with upselling, maintain store cleanliness, and build relationships with key pro accounts.

  • Build relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers.
  • Assist in upselling and cross-selling to increase average transaction value.

Job DescriptionPosition ResponsibilitiesPick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customersPick up returns and coresDrop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programsDaily collection of credit accountsBuild and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveriesAssist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction valueMaintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lotGeneral stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle countsMaintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with salesEngage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or servicesOther duties as assignedSuccess FactorsSafe driving and navigation abilityAbility to use delivery board systemFriendly and persuasive communicationAbility to locate and stock parts Safety knowledge and skillsOperating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipmentSales aptitude and customer service orientationAbility to identify customer needs and recommend solutionsEssential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a DriverSpeak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and leadershipRead and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manualsUse basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as neededConfidence in engaging customers and promoting productsWilling to learn about new products and sales techniquesPrior Experience that Sets a Driver up for SuccessAutomotive parts experience is preferredEducationHigh school diploma or equivalentCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordPhysical DemandsThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
