Job summary

Salvation Army A Georgia Corp is seeking staff to receive, sort, price, and display donated items in the store. You will assess item suitability and pricing according to standards while helping customers donate, select, and purchase goods.

The role involves operating the cash register and maintaining clean, organized sorting rooms and sales areas. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of retail or warehouse experience, or an equivalent mix of training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, with retail or warehouse experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Ability to assist customers in donating, selecting and purchasing store items.
• Experience handling cash and operating a cash register in a retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Sorting Room Responsibilities: sort, price and prepare donated items for display; determine suitability and pricing based on standards.
• Customer Service Responsibilities: assist store customers in donating, selecting and purchasing items; respond to questions.
• Store and Sorting Room Orderliness and Cleanliness Responsibilities: maintain order and cleanliness of the store and sorting room area; ensure neat displays.
