Job summary

Town Pump is seeking a motivated Store Clerk to provide excellent customer service, handle cash, stock and rotate merchandise, and maintain store cleanliness and safety. The role covers deli duties and general store operations in a fast-paced environment.

You will operate the register, handle payments, assist customers, and contribute to loss prevention and daily store goals. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and cash handling skills.
• Ability to operate a computerized cash register and process payments.
• Stock, price, rotate and display merchandise; keep store clean and safe.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for excellent customer service, cash handling and accounting, stocking, pricing, rotating, and displaying merchandise.
• Operate computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, bag merchandise.
• Remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, police the store, detect shoplifters, handle complaints.
• Stock shelves and coolers, complete accurate shift work, clean all areas of the store, complete vendor check-in, follow protocols, report violations.
• Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, maintain islands and cleaning supplies, perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Keep hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee and fountain areas clean and stocked.
• Perform deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
