Job summary

Mille Lacs Health System is seeking a Store Clerk to provide in-store assistance to customers, greet shoppers and process purchases at the counter.

Duties include stocking shelves, handling merchandise securely, maintaining store appearance, assisting with displays, and supporting loss prevention. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or current enrollment, basic computer skills, and are able to pass a background check; strong communication and customer service are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or currently enrolled.
• Previous on-the-job training or experience may substitute formal education.
• Computer experience needed.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Exceptional work ethic and adherence to company policies and sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Receive customers and assist them with the selection of merchandise
• Greet, interact, and monitor customers to assist the store in loss prevention
• Display and organize products in a store for the customers to locate easily
• Help customers in billing and payment processes at the stores counter
• Resolve and handle customer issues effectively
• Handle merchandise in a store in a safe and secure manner
• Maintain the outlook of the store through dusting, cleaning and restocking merchandise on the shelves
• Handle record keeping and re-ordering systems
• Help with preparation for displays and windows
• Clean the store and ensure products are properly displayed before the store opens
• Organize merchandise on shelves and restock them when they become empty
• Find and retrieve store merchandise
• Perform routine inventory counts and submit reports to the supervisor
• Carry out other store administrative tasks as directed by the supervisor
