The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program to assist men & women in their journey to complete our rehabilitation program. Position: Assistant Store Manager

As our enthusiastic and hardworking Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  1. Taking an active role and partnering with the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store.
  2. Managing all day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
  3. Providing coaching, training, and development to the Store Employees.
  4. Ensuring Customer/Donor needs are met by maintaining good Community relations; resolving complaints; and ensuring quick and efficient service.
  5. Communicating personnel issues with Management, especially in the absence of the Store Manager. May issue disciplinary warnings, conference reports, employee evaluations, and set goals in coordination with HR and District Sales Manager.
  6. Maintaining store standards, adequate inventory levels, and effective Back Room Processing (BRP) in absence of the Store Manager.
  7. Safeguarding cash in registers and safe, managing banking of cash receipts per ARC policy.
  8. Assisting in establishing and maintaining safety measures compliant with ARC policies and regulations.
  9. Implementing loss prevention strategies.
  10. Performing other duties as assigned by Management, Retail Directors, and Command Administration.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years retail management/supervisory experience.
  • Ability to handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions accurately.
  • Valid Driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to pass background checks including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
  • Effective communication skills with management, staff, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
  • Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as carts, fixtures, and merchandise.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
  • Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule

Our stores operate 7 days per week. Schedules are determined by Management, and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate coverage. Full-time employees may work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Additional Requirements

Education: High School or equivalent. Experience: 2 years retail management/supervisory. Licenses & Certifications: Driver's License.
