Job summary

Circle K Stores Inc. in Darien, IL is seeking an Assistant Manager for a full-time store leadership role. You will assist with oversight of daily store operations, hiring and supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of service and merchandising. This position supports the food program and emphasizes teamwork, punctuality and leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a retail team and supervising staff.
• Experience in hiring and interviewing staff.
• Experience handling food is a plus.
• Retail experience and supervisory capability are preferred.
• High School/College Degree(s) required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with oversight of Stationstore operations.
• Help with hiring, supervising and working with staff to accomplish daily tasks, bookkeeping and merchandising.
• Maintain high standards and provide fast and friendly service to customers.
• Provide regular and predicable onsite attendance.
• Execute the store's food program maintaining quality and safety.
• Set a positive example for staff through urgency, patience and leadership.

• You will assist the Store Manager with oversight of the Stationstore operations.
• You’ll help with hiring, supervising and working with the staff to accomplish daily tasks, bookkeeping and merchandising.

• Our food program has set the bar high and you’ll be executing that too.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours
• Lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead up to 30 minutes in a shift
• Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level
• Push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds
• Bend at the waist with some twisting up to one hour a shift
• Grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands.
• This handwork requires eye-hand coordination, and may require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs

Hiring Range: $18.00 to $18.25
