Job summary

Wegmans in New York seeks a Dairy Department Stocker to keep shelves stocked with milk, eggs, cheese and more, while delivering outstanding customer service. You will help customers locate items, take orders, package products, and ensure the dairy section remains fully stocked in a fast-paced environment.

Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting; Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, frequent heavy lifting, pushing and pulling, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, squatting, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers. The average weight range of items lifted is 8 – 32 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with exposure to and working in cold (33° – 55°) temperatures. Basic tools and equipment used include milk crates, dollies, egg racks, box cutter, hand/power jack, compactor, baler, and u-cart.
