Essential Duties

• Merchandising:
  • Monitors and ensures product areas are stocked, rotated, and displayed to maintain freshness, appeal, and easy customer access.
  • Complies with company guidelines to maximise sales, profitability, and customer service by ensuring all grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked attractively, and priced correctly.
  • Completes build‑to orders for purchasing merchandise.
  • Maintains inventory by checking deliveries, pricing items, and stocking merchandise according to schematics.
  • Validates deliveries by verifying invoices, reviewing discrepancies with the Store Manager, and ensuring charges match deliveries. Delivers outdated merchandise to the Store Manager.
  • Prepares displays by assembling, dating, and price‑marking in‑store displays.
• Customer Satisfaction:
  • Provides prompt, courteous, friendly, and attentive service.
  • Greets customers upon entering and thanks them upon leaving.
  • Resolves or assists in resolving routine customer concerns within established guidelines.
  • Reports to work on time and follows the dress and appearance code.
• Facility Condition:
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Sweeps, mops, dusts, washes windows, counters, displays, store areas, and bathrooms.
  • Collects and disposes of trash, litter, or debris.
  • Inspects store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
  • Cleans or checks equipment such as coffee machines, beverage, ice or refrigeration units, and other tools used.
• Administrative:
  • Attends job‑related meetings (may require irregular hours).
  • Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and shift audits.
  • Maintains intradepartmental workflow by fostering cooperation.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performs duties with minimal supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Job Requirements

• Minimum age of 16 years old.

• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) preferred.
• Ability to perform the essential duties and physical functions described below.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes while working in a walk‑in cooler, freezer, or outdoors.
• Occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead.
• Occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
• Grip, reach, and manipulate objects with hands throughout the shift.
• Push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., hand‑truck).
• Reach overhead for objects.
• Bend and twist at waist.
• Oral communication.
• Operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
• Stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push, and pull.
• Work alone.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Stand and/or walk entire shift.
• May require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs.

Work Environment

• Approximately 95% of work indoors, but required to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc.
• Take out garbage during day or early evening hours.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures in walk‑in cooler or freezer.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Work with minimal direction and periodic supervision.
