Job summary

Gardner-White Furniture Inc. is seeking a reliable Stock Associate to maintain backstock and sales floor, process shipments, and assist customers. You will help tag, stock, and display merchandise, support shuttle unloading, and participate in promotional setups as needed.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift 100+ lbs with a team, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Prior stockroom or retail experience is a plus.

Description

Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Stock Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our store's inventory is organized, stocked, and ready for customers. As a Stock Associate, you will be responsible for maintaining the backroom and sales floor, receiving, and processing shipments, and assisting customers with their inquiries.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the stock room cleanliness and organization
• At the manager's discretion, assist with the setup and breakdown of promotional displays, events, and special projects, ensuring that areas are clean and organized before and after events.
• Assisting shuttle drivers with unloading trucks as needed
• Assisting with customer pick-ups as needed
• Ensure that merchandise is properly tagged, assembled, and displayed
• Assist with moving new and existing merchandise to/from the floor
• Basic computer skills utilizing the scanning tool, printing inventory tags, and working in GW's store inventory system (training provided)
• Other duties/projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a retail and warehouse environment.

• Attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to accurately track inventory and maintain orderliness in the stockroom.
• Previous experience in stockroom or warehouse operations, preferably in a retail or furniture environment, is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and interact professionally with customers.
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
