Job summary

Carlyle House, Inc. in Ohio is seeking a dedicated STNA to provide routine ADLs to residents as directed by care plans.

The role offers Day (7am-7pm) and Night (7pm-7am) shifts and requires physical stamina to lift 50–75 pounds and to move and assist residents safely. You will assist with personal hygiene, meals, mobility, and comfort, document actions, and maintain confidentiality while adhering to policies and OHSA standards.

Job description

This position requires providing routine ADL's to residents directed by the resident's care plan and assessment. We offer two different shifts, Day shift 7am-7pm and Night shift 7pm-7am.

Physical Requirements:

This position demands good physical and mental health. STNAs will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible schedule, must be able to move continuously during working hours and able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds.

Duties:

• Provides patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.
• Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; washing and drying residents' laundry, ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
• Protects organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.
• Serves and protects the community by adhering to professional standards, community policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and OHSA standards.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure.
• Enhances nursing department and community reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
