Boston Public Schools is seeking a stipend opportunity for a Bilingual Spanish Special Education Assessor to administer Spanish-language assessments. This in-person role requires familiarity with Woodcock-Muniz Bateria, scoring and interpreting results, and delivering formal reports outside regular hours at testing centers across the city.

The assessor will upload reports to EdPlan, present findings at IEP meetings when required, and work within the Office of Specialized Services.

BPS HIRING UNIT: Office of Specialized Services

REPORTS TO: Chief of Specialized Services or their designee

STIPEND OPPORTUNITY DATES: 10/15/2026 to 6/30/2027

STIPEND POSITION OVERVIEW:

• The Office of Specialized Services (OSS) seeks to develop a talent pool of current licensed BPS Bilingual Special Education Teachers to administer Special Education assessments in Spanish.
• Incumbents will need to be familiar with administering, scoring, and interpreting the Woodcock-Muniz Bateria assessment results in their respective areas and submit an analysis of such results in the appropriate format using the department’s template.
• This is an in-person opportunity. Assessments will be conducted at designated testing centers city-wide. All work will take place outside of regular working hours at an assessment center or at a school.
• Assessors will be required to:
  • Administer the assessment in person and complete the assessment reporting components in Spanish. The assessment report will be an original document written by the assessor and will contain testing results, a description of subtests administered, an interpretation of the results, and recommendations. The department’s format will be provided. * A generated test summary from testing platforms will not be an acceptable form of an assessment report.
  • Upload the assessment results and reports into EdPlan two days after the assessment due date.
  • For children & students found eligible for academic support, goals must be provided.
  • A member of the students IEP team will read the report at the meeting; therefore, you will be responsible for discussing your findings, if needed, with an IEP team representative before the IEP meeting.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED :

• Currently working in Boston Public Schools.
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Experience administering the Woodcock-Muniz Bateria; be able to administer, score, and interpret all results
• Appropriate licensing.

TERMS:

• All work must be completed outside of the regular school day.
• Delivering Findings: A special education IEP team member will deliver the report during the meeting
• The stipend will be paid out once the work is completed, uploaded in EdPlan, and approved by Dr. Ivonne Borrero.
• A unique stipend per assessment area (please see breakdown below), per student, will be provided to each assessor. See the table below for rates.
