Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is hosting auditions for performers who will walk on stilts and interact with guests at SeaWorld Orlando. Candidates should demonstrate confidence, balance, and the ability to engage visitors while staying in character and adhering to safety guidelines.

Auditions will cover movement on stilts, improvisation, and costume coordination, with emphasis on outdoor performance and crowd interaction.

Qualifications

• Previous experience walking on stilts is required.
• Strong improvisation and non-verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable performing outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent balance, endurance, and physical fitness.
• Ability to remain in costume for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality.
• Weekend, evening, and holiday availability preferred.
• Experience in entertainment, theater, festivals, or theme parks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform safely and confidently on stilts for scheduled performance sets.
• Engage with guests through meet-and-greet, photo opportunities, and interactive entertainment.
• Stay in character throughout assigned performance times.
• Wear costumes, wigs, masks, or themed attire as required.
• Work collaboratively with stage managers, performer leadership, and fellow performers.
• Maintain a positive, approachable, and professional attitude with guests of all ages.
• Follow all safety procedures regarding stilt performance and guest interaction.
• Care for costumes and performance equipment.

Audition Details

Date: Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Time: 8:30 AM. Check in with a 9:00 AM audition OR 8PM check in with a 8:30 PM audition.

Location: Nautilus Theater – SeaWorld Orlando. All candidates should park in the Ambassador parking lot across from Discovery Cove and enter through Security Gate 3.

Audition Requirements

• Must have previous experience walking on stilts.
• Walk confidently on stilts without assistance.
• Start, stop, and turn smoothly.
• Navigate crowds safely.
• Maintain balance while interacting with guests.
• Pose naturally for photographs.
• Demonstrate awareness of surroundings and safety.
• Bring proper shoes and padding; stilts will be provided.
• Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement.

Availability Requirements

• Seasonal Ambassador for Halloween and Christmas seasons.
• Spooktacular Event runs select dates from August 29th through November 1st. Highly preferred to be available for all dates, but must have at least Saturday and Sunday availability.
• Howl‑O‑Scream event runs select dates from September 11th through October 31st. Highly preferred to be available for all dates, but must have at least two consecutive days of availability (Friday+Saturday or Saturday+Sunday) and must also be available on either October 30th or October 31st.
• Must be available for rehearsals discussed during audition.

Audition Preparation

How should I prepare for my audition? You will be asked to learn a dance combination and participate in improvement and athletic stamina exercises. Costumed character auditions are based primarily on movement, non‑verbal communication, and physical coordination. Please arrive early enough to stretch and warm up before the audition begins. Please wear form‑fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement and tennis or jazz shoes. Please do not wear jeans.
