Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Clinical Support professional for our Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) in Gainesville, FL. The role supports nursing staff in caring for critically ill surgical, trauma, orthopedic and neurological patients, with emphasis on monitoring and patient comfort.

Responsibilities include accurate data collection, patient assistance, and ensuring safety and readiness for procedures in a fast-paced ICU setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or official transcript showing completion of at least the sophomore year.
• One year of nursing assistant, patient care technician, or unit assistant experience required; nursing students who completed Foundations of Nursing are eligible.
• Other: prefer basic skills and knowledge as outlined in the job description.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and report basic patient physiological data (vital signs, weight, urine/stool details).
• Monitor fluids in and out and document accordingly.
• Respond to patient call lights and notify licensed staff as needed.
• Assist with ADL, positioning, mobility, and comfort per procedures.
• Prepare room for new admissions and maintain patient charts.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are ready; report issues to supervision.
