Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM) is seeking a Stewardship Manager to grow and strengthen relationships with corporate partners, churches, and community groups. You will manage a portfolio, craft engagement plans, and secure funding through face-to-face solicitations and compelling sponsorship proposals.

The role involves travel to donor appointments and events, collaboration with the Development team, and alignment with our mission and values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful fundraising and/or sales experience.
  • Proven track record of closing four- and five-figure gifts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with donor management CRM.

  • Create and implement engagement plans considering each organization's interests, giving history, and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Execute annual plans to acquire, renew, and grow partnerships and campaigns.

  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure stewardship of partners including recognition and reporting.
  • Represent KARM at events, networking functions, and meetings to identify new opportunities.

Job description

The Stewardship Manager is responsible for growing and strengthening Knox Area Rescue Ministries' relationships with corporate partners, churches, civic organizations, and other community stakeholders. Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations, the Stewardship Manager is part of the Development team charged with generating monetary donations to the ministry. The Stewardship Manager will work diligently to secure funds for the organization by developing and managing a portfolio of corporate and community partnerships, assuring that existing partners are retained, new partnerships are cultivated, and engagement opportunities continue to expand. The successful candidate will build rapport with current and prospective partners through intentional stewardship consisting of phone calls, emails, thank-you notes, face-to-face meetings, presentations, ministry tours, and community networking. This position will also work collaboratively with businesses, churches, and organizations to develop meaningful opportunities for financial support, volunteer engagement, sponsorships, and ministry involvement. A key benefit of this position will be the satisfaction of helping organizations and community partners fulfill their passions and missions through their partnership with KARM.DutiesGain a comprehensive understanding of the priorities of Knox Area Rescue Ministries.Learn all aspects of KARM's giving opportunities.Develop, maintain, and grow a portfolio of corporate partners, churches, civic organizations, and community groups.Create and implement engagement plans that consider each organization's interests, philanthropic priorities, giving history, volunteer involvement, sponsorship opportunities, and preferred methods of partnership.Execute annual plans that include strategies for acquiring, renewing, and growing corporate partnerships, church relationships, sponsorships, workplace giving campaigns, and other community engagement opportunities.As part of the Development team, help strategize and develop the overall fundraising plan in order to ensure continued revenue growth.Make direct, face-to-face solicitations and create and write effective sponsorship proposals, partnership opportunities, funding requests, and other offers. Ability to secure information that can be shared with partners demonstrating the impact of their support is required.Cultivate relationships that result in corporate gifts, church partnerships, event sponsorships, employee giving campaigns, volunteer engagement, and other mutually beneficial collaborations.Represent KARM at community events, networking functions, chamber gatherings, churches, and corporate meetings to increase awareness of the ministry and identify new partnership opportunities.Coordinate with internal departments to ensure excellent stewardship of corporate and community partners, including recognition, reporting, volunteer experiences, and fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.Design and run queries, gift summaries, and reports; input and retrieve biographical and gift records.Organize donor cultivation and community engagement events in coordination with the Development team.Represent KARM professionally and in accordance with fundraising standards to the public, donors, employees, volunteers, community partners, and program guests.Model Christian conduct and behavior to all constituents.Perform other duties as assigned.Working Conditions:Office setting at KARM maintained propertyFrequent local travel to other KARM properties, donor appointments, etc.Significant amount of time spent communicating via telephone and computerRequired attendance at major KARM events or functionsCommitment to Christian faith required; spiritually matureCommitment to KARM’s mission and agreement with our statement of faith and guiding valuesBachelor’s degree or equivalentMinimum 5 years of successful fundraising and/or sales experience and a proven track record of closing four- and five-figure giftsStrong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, as well as a high level of maturity in social and professional settingsHigh degree of comfort with direct donor interaction, including discussions of personal and family financesDemonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills; outgoing, high-energy, and able to multi-taskSelf-starter as well as an initiator; able to work with little direct supervisionAbility to manage several projects simultaneously and to succeed under pressureComfortable and proficient with using personal computers, tablets, and software programs for retrieving, organizing, researching, and presenting appropriate donor/prospect information; proficiency with MSOffice; experience with DonorSearch and DonorPerfect CRM a plusAbility to work in a team environment and work collaboratively with a variety of constituenciesAbility to think strategically and effectively adapt to change
