Job summary

Proof of the Pudding, a chef-led hospitality company serving major venues, seeks a Stewarding Supervisor to oversee stewarding operations across events. You will lead the stewarding team, monitor deliveries, assist with setup and breakdown of equipment, and maintain cleanliness in kitchens and service areas.

This is a full-time hourly role requiring flexibility for weekends, nights, and holidays; candidates should be within 25 miles of Starkville, Mississippi.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the stewarding team, delegating daily tasks to meet event timelines.
  • Assist and monitor deliveries of all food to functions and manage setup/breakdown.
  • Maintain cleanliness in kitchens, service areas, hallways and parking areas; operate main dish machine; handle light food prep as directed.

Proof of the Pudding is a chef-led hospitality company delivering food and beverage experiences at some of North America’s most complex sports, entertainment, cultural, and live-event venues.Founded in Atlanta in 1979, Proof has built a national reputation for doing hospitality differently — from-scratch cooking at scale, hyper-local sourcing, and a partnership-first approach that treats clients as collaborators, not contracts. The company serves professional and collegiate sports venues, convention centers, cultural institutions, and large-scale destination events across the United States and Internationally.Proof of the Pudding is seeking a Stewarding Supervisor to help oversee all stewarding functions. Responsible for cleaning of china, glassware, silver and serving equipment; facilitating all plate-up and delivery of all food the prospective functions; set-up and breakdown of all Banquet buffets; cleaning of Food & Beverage food prep and servicing areas, to include main kitchen, concessions kitchen and back hallways. This position also includes general janitorial duties throughout the venue and parking lot. The ideal candidate is punctual, well organized, and has kitchen experience.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead the stewarding team by delegating daily tasks, and adhering to event timelines.Assist and monitor deliveries of all food to prospective functionsOversee and assist in delivery, set-up, and breakdown of all equipment to prospective functionsMaintain cleanliness in all kitchens, service areas, hallways, trash bins, and parking lotPosition is very hands and will interaction often with staffRunning and maintenance of the main dish machineThis position will also include some light food prep work per the Executive Chef’s directionQualifications2+ years of culinary steward/prep/food & beverage supervision background is necessaryMust live within 25 miles of Starkville, MississippiMust be a team playerSpecialized Qualifications:Planning and multi-taskingSelf-motivated with a high energy levelFlexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.Ability to follow directions and work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.Must be a phenomenal team-player and self-motivated with a high energy level.Work EnvironmentThis position will spend majority of time in the MSU kitchen and dish pit area where there will be hot water, chemicals, and typical kitchen equipment and utensils.Uniform RequirementsAdherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.Non-slip shoes are necessary.Physical Demands:Prolonged periods of moving through kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces, and traveling to different venues across greater AtlantaManual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food itemsAbility to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 40 lbs.CORE VALUE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTSBusiness Acumen - Demonstrate comprehension of the job, including policies, practices, and relationships.
