Job summary

Four Seasons Resort in Puerto Rico is seeking a professional Steward to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of china, glass, silver, and kitchen areas in a luxury hotel setting. The role includes operating dishwashing equipment, keeping ovens and kitchen apparatus clean, and ensuring a safe work environment.

You will also support locker rooms and fitness areas, conduct guest-facing tours of spa amenities, and provide courteous, efficient service to guests in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role in a luxury spa or upscale hotel.
• Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English and Spanish language is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize china, glass, and silver using the dishwashing machine; load and unload dishware and store properly.
• Clean and sanitize all ovens, steam kettles, mixers and other kitchen equipment; maintain kitchen drains, sinks, floors and walls.
• Clean, dust, mop, polish, scrub and buff kitchen and pastry shop areas and hallways.
• Safely set up, clean, and use the silver burnishing machine; sort and transport silver and set aside damaged pieces for repair.
• Safely store all cleaning chemicals and materials and wear protective clothing as required.
• Follow Four Seasons’ work rules and standards of conduct.
• Work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the locker room and fitness areas; provide orientation to guests.
• Offer spa & fitness tours and advise on Spa treatment options.
• Respond to guest interactions in a courteous and professional manner to maximize satisfaction and comfort.
• Distribute towels, robes, toiletries and other items to provide guests with a high level of service.

About The Role:

The Steward will be responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of china, glass, silver, kitchen equipment and kitchen production areas in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment.

What You Will Do:

• Clean and sanitize china, glass, and silver using the dishwashing machine; load and unload dishware and flatware from dishwashing machine and store properly.
• Clean and sanitize all ovens, steam kettles, mixers and other kitchen equipment as well as all kitchen drains, sinks, floors, and walls; clean, dust, seep, mop, polish, scrub, wash, strip, and buff kitchen and pastry shop production areas and hallways.
• Clean and sanitize all pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using the correct cleaning and rinsing solutions.
• Safely set-up, clean, and utilize the silver burnishing machine to clean, polish, sort, and transport silver following a daily or weekly schedule; placedamaged or excessively worn pieces in a designated area for repair.
• Safely utilize and store all cleaning compounds, chemicals, and materials including soaking solution utilizing the correct protective clothing.
• Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.

What You Will Do:

• Maintains the cleanliness of the locker room and fitness areas.
• Provides guests with a fitness and locker room orientation.
• Offers spa & fitness tours and can advise of Spa treatment options.
• Respond to all interactions in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum customer satisfaction and comfort.
• Distribute and stock towels, robes, swimsuits, toiletries, juices, fruits and other items or amenities needed in the area to provide guests with a level of service in keeping with a Four Seasons.
