Job summary

Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ is seeking a dependable Steward to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in kitchen and back-of-house areas. You will ensure dishes, glassware, and equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for service, while collaborating with culinary and banquet teams to support smooth operations and guest experiences.

This role requires physical stamina, multi-tasking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility for varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen, cleaning, or hospitality preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and glassware.
• Operate dishwashing machines and manual cleaning as needed.
• Organize and store cleaned items in designated areas.
• Keep kitchen floors, walls, counters, and equipment spotless.
• Support culinary, banquet, and outlet teams with equipment organization.
• Deliver clean plates, utensils, and essentials to kitchen or service areas promptly.
• Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and food waste per hotel standards.
• Sanitize trash bins and maintain waste zones.
• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and restock as needed.
• Report broken equipment to supervisor.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and follow safety procedures.
• Adhere to health and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow hotel policies to ensure safety and organization.
• Attend safety trainings and team meetings.
• Regular attendance and varying schedules may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

In this role, you'll ensure dishes, glassware, silverware, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and ready for service. Working closely with culinary, banquet, and outlet teams, you'll play a vital part in creating smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.

• Deliver clean plates, utensils, and other essentials to kitchen or service areas promptly.

• Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and food waste according to hotel standards, maintaining cleanliness in all disposal areas.

• Sanitize trash bins and maintain cleanliness in waste management zones.

• Monitor cleaning supply inventory and restock as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

• Report broken or malfunctioning equipment promptly to the Executive Steward or Stewarding Supervisor.

• Use cleaning chemicals safely and follow all established safety procedures.

• Adhere to health and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling practices.

• Follow all hotel policies and procedures to ensure a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.

• Participate in regular safety training and team meetings to stay informed and prepared.

• Regular attendance in conformance with standards.

• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.

• Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications Include:

• Previous experience in kitchen, cleaning, or hospitality-related work, preferred.

• Must have multi-tasking skills, internal/external customer service skills.

• Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting heavy items, standing for long periods, and operating cleaning equipment.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently.
