Compass Group USA at The MET, 1000 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10028, is seeking a full-time Steward. The schedule is a morning shift with days varying.

The ideal candidate has storeroom attendant and receiving experience. The fixed pay rate is $22.50 per hour. This role supports kitchen operations and sanitation standards in a bustling location.

Qualifications

• Previous storeroom attendant and receiving experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps and mops floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
• Operates large electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks and all other food prep surfaces as assigned.
• Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers; steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans as needed.
• Washes dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other food preparation equipment.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas observing safe lifting standards.
• Assists with banquet table and front of house setup as requested.
• Assists with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Complies with all outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
