Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Houston is looking for a dedicated Steward to maintain high cleanliness and sanitation standards in our food and beverage division. You will be responsible for washing and neatly storing kitchenware, while also ensuring that workstations are kept clean and sanitary.

The ideal candidate will have previous luxury hotel experience, be able to stand for long hours, and possess a Texas Food Handler's certification. A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous luxury hotel/restaurant experience preferred, high volume.
• Ability and willingness to stand for 8 hours at a time.
• Ability and willingness to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability and willingness to bend, stretch, and reach.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Ability and willingness to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Previous hotel experience in stewarding strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, cookware, and utensils in compliance with sanitation standards.
• Break down trays from banquets and outlets.
• Deliver clean cookware and serving ware to various outlets.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station.
• Neatly store dishes, cookware, and utensils.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation within our food and beverage division. Stewards thoroughly wash and neatly store all of the serving ware, cookware and utensils utilized in food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Thoroughly and efficiently wash dishes, pots, cookware, and utensils in compliance with Omni's high sanitation standards.
• Break down trays from banquets and the outlets.
• Deliver clean cookware and serving ware to various outlets and meeting rooms.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station.
• Neatly store all dishes, cookware, and utensils in their proper locations.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by management.
