Job summary

The Dewberry Charleston is seeking a full-time Steward in Charleston, SC. You will operate the commercial dishwasher, stock supplies, and maintain cleanliness across kitchen areas, banquet and restaurant spaces, while following health and safety guidelines.

This role supports the culinary team under the Sous Chef and contributes to a flawless guest experience. Qualified candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, endure long periods of standing, and adapt to temperature variations in a

Responsibilities

• Operate the dishwasher to clean dishes and utensils in the kitchen, banquet, and restaurant areas.
• Restock all supplies as needed throughout shifts.
• Attend to general kitchen cleaning duties including mopping and trash removal.
• Ensure cleaning conforms to DHEC guidelines and safety standards.
• Put away food stock and dry goods; assist with spills or guest requests as needed.

REPORTS TO:Sous Chef

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• Operate the dishwasher to properly clean dishes, and the pot wash sink to clean all cooking utensils used in the kitchen, banquets, and restaurants.
• Restock all supplies.
• Attends to all general kitchen cleaning duties, including but not limited to cleaning and mopping of kitchen floors and removal of all trash from the kitchen and storeroom.
• Ensure all cleaning is performed to stay within compliance guidelines as outlined by DHEC.
• Put away food stock and dry goods.
• Perform other duties as requested, such as assisting with unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.

QUALIFICATIONS:
