Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Sterilizing Tech II to join our operating room support team. The candidate will disassemble, clean, assemble, sterilize, and store trays, instruments, and supplies while maintaining strict infection control practices.

Responsibilities include dispensing supplies to Operating Rooms, updating department reports, and coordinating with inventory for stock levels. Strong communication in English and basic computer skills are required; Sterile Processing

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience
• High School degree or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
• Sterile Processing certification through an accredited body.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, cleans, assembles, sterilizes, and stores procedure trays, instruments, equipment and supplies according to prescribed procedures.
• Completes requests to dispense supplies directly to the Operating Rooms and maintaining department supply inventory.
• Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers, and addresses questions promptly.
• Maintains and updates department reports and communicates with inventory specialties for all supplies.
• Disassembles and cleans instruments and equipment using proper technique and sterilizes all instruments and supplies.

Education
