Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Previous sterile processing or healthcare sterilization experience preferred.
• Knowledge of infection prevention and sterile processing principles.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute reusable medical instruments and equipment.
• Follow established infection prevention, OSHA, CDC, and Joint Commission standards.
• Monitor biological indicators (BI), chemical indicators, and sterilization processes for quality assurance.
• Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
• Perform routine sterilizer testing, maintenance, and quality control procedures.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and repair needs.
• Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all decontamination and sterilization activities.
• Conduct routine spot checks and assist with infection prevention initiatives.
• Provide sterilization training to staff as assigned.
• Assist with transportation and handling of contaminated and sterile instruments.
• Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and equipment.
• Perform Dental Assisting duties when assigned by the supervisor or Dental Director.
• Participate in sterilization, infection prevention, and departmental meetings.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
