Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, Decontamination and Disinfection: handling PPE and temperature/humidity standards; operating cleaning equipment; transferring items to preparation area.
  • Preparation and Packaging: preparing work area, inspecting items, selecting and packing items with appropriate packaging.
  • Documentation and Record Maintenance: reporting incidents, operating the TDoc system, and ensuring proper documentation.
  • Customer Relations: responding to customer requests and understanding medical terminology.
  • Sterile Storage and Inventory Management: maintaining clean work areas, stocking and rotating supplies, tracking inventory per policy.
  • Patient Care Equipment: receiving and processing equipment from operating rooms and clinics for decontamination.
  • Other: precepting new employees and complying with hospital policies.

Education

H.Unloads sterilizer using proper body mechanics, ergonomics and traffic flow and PPE.

I.Inspects package integrity post sterilization process.

C.Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology.

D.Participates on internal and external teams to problem solve issues (Staff Engagement).

VI.Sterile Storage and Inventory Management
