Job summary

Elliot Health System's SPU is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, prepare and sterilize supplies, instruments, and equipment for patient care.

Responsibilities include following duty rosters, operating steam and sterrad sterilizers, labeling trays, maintaining records, answering calls, and supporting infection control policies in a night shift role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, prepares, and sterilizes equipment and supplies per Elliot Hospital and infection control rules.
• Follows duty roster to fulfill workstation assignment.
• Runs steam, sterrad sterilizer, washer decontaminators, cart washer, ultrasonics, and dryer.
• Reports broken equipment and supplies to shift leader and manager immediately for follow-up.
• Labels and assembles healthcare instrument trays.
• Maintains steam, sterrad, and biological monitoring records.
• Answers phone calls.
• Creates linen packs, inspects, delints, and folds as needed.

About The Job
