Job summary

MU Healthcare is seeking a meticulous and adaptable Sterile Processing Technician to join our team, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.

This on-site role in the Sterile Processing department requires Sterile Processing experience, flexibility to work varied shifts, and the ability to support multiple roles as needed in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. Join us to contribute to a culture of excellence in patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, assemble, and test instrumentation for proper functioning.
• Perform and participate in the decontamination, inspection, cleaning, assembling, and packaging of medical/surgical materials including instruments and equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure a sterile and functioning supply of materials.
• Prepare trays and specialty carts for designated areas according to prescribed procedures. Wrap and/or package items for specified areas according to procedures prescribed for those designated areas. Operate instrument tracking systems.
• Use knowledge of different types of sterilization materials and equipment to choose the appropriate material for sterilization processes.
• Assist in the maintenance of supply and materials inventory to include documenting usage, issuing, receiving, and recording as assigned.
• May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
