Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of approved sterile processing course is required.
• Certification within 1 year from hire by CBSPD is required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies and equipment.
• Monitor wash solutions to ensure quality for decontamination and sterilization.
• Sort mismatched instrument sets and provide to sterile processing customers promptly.
• Re-stock, label, and maintain inventory; submit requisitions and distribute instruments, trays, crash carts, and facility medical equipment.
• Perform environmental maintenance and assist in inventory in sterile processing, operating room, and equipment storage areas.
• Verify equipment functions properly, requisitions for equipment maintenance, repair or replacement, and removal of defective equipment.
• Assist with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality improvement, safety and infection control standards.
• Perform other related duties as required and directed.
