Indiana University Health is seeking a Surgical Technician for the Senate Street Surgery Center in Indiana, Pennsylvania. In this PRN position, the technician will be responsible for cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments and supplies.
The ideal candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED and one national certification related to sterile processing. Additional skills in mentoring, computer proficiency, and knowledge of medical terminology are important. This role may also involve training colleagues as well as demonstrating expert knowledge in surgical instrumentation.

Hours: PRN
Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, stores and distributes equipment, supplies, instruments and endoscopes used in patient care. Assists area clinical staff by using specialized knowledge in surgical instrumentation and procedures to prepare for surgical cases. Provides technical guidance to others involved in the assembly of instrumentation and preparation of case carts. Trains colleagues on various skills and tasks. Acts as a resource or mentor to colleagues with less experience.
