Overview

Sterile Processing Tech II

As a Sterile Processing Technician at St. Luke's Woodlands Hospital, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll assist in patient care and preparation of surgical patients. We can’t operate without you.

Position Summary

Performs instrument processing activities, decontamination, assembly, sterilization (steam, sterrad, and gas) and stocking of instruments to remote locations to ensure availability to areas providing direct patient care. Ensures that personal performance and service quality levels meet or exceed customer expectations and perceptions.

Responsibilities
  • Participates in routine cleaning activities (i.e. sterilizers, surface areas, storage carts, etc.)
  • Transports and decontaminates all soiled instrumentation and equipment to a state of cleanliness, disinfection, and disposes of all infectious items.
  • Assures accuracy in the assembly and packaging of instrumentation, special trays, and equipment for sterilization.
  • Performs all steam, sterrad, and ethylene oxide sterilization activities.
  • Labels, incubates, logs, and documents all biological indicators.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • CRCST
  • More than 1 year of experience
