The Sterile Processing Technician II is responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, sterilizing, and storing surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established policies and regulatory standards. The role includes operating and monitoring sterilization equipment, maintaining accurate records and tracking systems, and ensuring the availability of properly processed instruments for operating rooms and clinical areas. Daily tasks involve collaborating with surgical and nursing teams, prioritizing instrument turnaround based on procedure schedules, and promptly addressing requests for urgent or specialty sets. The technician also participates in quality assurance activities, routine equipment checks, and ongoing process improvements to support patient safety and high-quality care.
