Job summary

The Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) School of Dentistry is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician 1 to join the Central Sterile team. You will handle decontamination, assembly prep, packaging and sterilization of instruments in a fast-paced setting.

You’ll rotate across stations, maintain strict infection control, and communicate policies clearly to students and staff while delivering dependable, customer-focused service during regular M-F hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year in any field.
• Ability to multi-task with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Good judgement in customer interactions and infection control.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong data entry and computer literacy, including MS Office and AxiUm.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Clear written and oral English.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Process, prepare, sterilize and distribute instruments and supplies.
• Operate within central sterilization policies and communicate them to staff and students.
• Work across stations with independence and adapt to daily routines.
• Provide courteous customer-facing service and share best practices.
• Support training and progression within the unit.
