Mayo Clinic in Kingsland, GA is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to support the operating room team by ensuring sterile instruments are properly decontaminated, assembled, packaged, and distributed.

You will re-process reusable equipment per manufacturer guidelines, maintain inventory, and support the sterile core to meet the needs of the surgical team, contributing to patient safety and quality of care.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of instrumentation experience or completion of a Central Service vocational program with full Central Service Technician certification.
• Successful completion of a Central Service vocational program is preferred.
• One year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge; good verbal and written communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to give/receive constructive feedback.
• Central Service Technician certification required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Responsible for performing delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient as well as procedural areas within the hospital. Duties are performed under the supervision of the Central Service Team Leaders and Central Service Supervisor and in collaboration with the operating room team.

• Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of re-usable surgical equipment, instrumentation and scopes per manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Meeting the needs of the surgical team through support of activities in the sterile core.

*Qualified applicants must live within a reasonable driving distance to campus to meet the 45-minute on-call report time requirement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of one year of instrumentation experience OR successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service with full (not provisional) Central Service Technician certification.
• Successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service is preferred.
• One year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and the ability to receive and give constructive feedback.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, being concise by phone and in person.
• Central Service Technician certification is required within one year of hire.

*Additional experience and/or qualifications may be evaluated for Sterile Processing Technician II consideration based on demonstrated advanced skill competency and complex job knowledge.
