Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to sterilize, process, and manage instruments and supplies for surgical and medical procedures. The role includes GI scope processing and strict adherence to infection control in a fast-paced setting.

The position offers full-time, 8-hour shifts with evening start times, and carries an up-to $5,000 sign-on bonus. Candidates should have VR/CRCST credentials or equivalent experience and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Certificate or training in sterile processing preferred; strong attention to detail.
• BLS (American Heart Association) is required.
• CRCST certification preferred.
• Experience in acute care sterile processing if no formal training.
• Ongoing learning through inservices/courses to stay updated.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, assembly, and sterilization of instruments.
• Restock and maintain storage of sterile supplies and case carts.
• Manage labeling and documentation of sterilized packages.
• Process GI scopes and endoscopic instruments to high standards.
• Report faulty equipment and non-compliance with sterilization standards.
• Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings.
• Meet urgent timelines to support surgical schedules.

Education

Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training

Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements

CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) preferred
